Bob studied at St Dominics School Haverstock Hill – and we have a sample of a good report in 1895. After leaving school he went to work as a porter in the post office.

He was a pioneer in photograph and a skilled at home craftsman. A member of the communist party, Bob could be argumentative at times particularly with his brother Alfred who works in the Post Office as a manager.

He married Eveline who died 22 October 1951 at the age of 68, and they had a son and daughter, Ted (Robert Edward) and Elsie.
