From the foundation of the University it has already
been hoped that its influence would result in converts to
Christianity, and its success in this direction has been great and
gratifying. But the transformation which it has produced in public
sentiment may outweigh in significance the enrolment of members in the
Christian Church. It would be hard to overestimate the value of the
University’s influence in spreading ideals of international good
will and peace. |
